MAC Retro Matte Full Collection Swatched!

MAC sent me the entire collection because I am such a pronounced beauty blogger they said, "Send that talented girl the whole lot and fast!  We must know what she thinks of our new liquid lipsticks collection..."

Zzzzz....snort* What?  Oh was I daydreaming again?
Well they didn't send me the entire collection but I did still get my hands on it!
I am working at a counter in North Seattle and had a chance to swipe a couple samples and by a couple I mean all of them.  I sampled one of each of the earthy tones not only so I can have them on when I show up to work but so I can make this video.  It really is a win win in my opinion.

These colors are SO beautiful and SO up my alley.  I am all about the neutral tones, browns, mauves, etc.  Or really any whacky color you typically don't see.  I love to slap on some blue lipstick and hit the grocery. LOL

I did mention in my "Naughty Nice Beauty Products" video that I did not like the formula of the Retro Matte "Dance With Me" liquid lipstick that I had.  You really can't build on them.  A thin layer is all you can do before it flakes and chips away, yickkk.  But these seem different!  I don't know if they changed it or it's just the pigmentation makes the formula different but all I know is, I don't have that problem thus far.  I do recommend using a lip primer or chapstick in the beginning of your makeup routine as all liquid lipsticks are drying.  So when you add the lipstick as the final step wipe away any extra moisture and then apply as normal.  I even prep my lips the night before by wearing a balm before bed if I know it's going to be a liquid lip kind of day, like for a Holiday Party, Wedding, or some kind of special occasion.

So here is the video I made, trying on each one so you can see what they look like, enjoy!

Winter Wonderland in Leavenworth

I told Lyle that it looked like we were in "White Walker" country going through Steven's Pass here in Washington.  It's absolutely breathtaking.  I had to ride the whole way through the summit with the windows down on the way back so I could smell the snow.  Booger sat in my lap and we both peeked our noses out sniffing the was freezing cold but we just cranked the heat and eventually Boogie fell asleep cuddled on me with a blanket as we listened to Mastadon the whole way home.
Lyle's sister was the one who brought up the idea of this trip to the little Bavarian Village and I'm so glad she did!  When she said she was going to Leavenworth's Christmas Tree Lighting event (which attracts people from all over) to watch the town light up for the holidays we were so down.  It was so good to get some family time in with her and her man, I couldn't have thought of a better place to do that.  The streets were closed off and you could just walk down the middle of the city with carolers singing and Santa walking around free of his duties of list checking for one night.  We waited in a long line for the Munchen Haus which is the BEST place for snausages with a Bier Garden and mustard bar, mmmm delish!  We lucked out with a table that had the fire in the middle of it, even though Shelley had avoided a near disaster when the paper on her dinner caught on fire, luckily she was able to put it out swiftly before any major accidents, lol.  I imagine that happens there a lot as the fire tables were flaming so high I had to check to see my eyebrows were still on when we left, but hey, we were warm!
We also stopped in for some chocolates, candy apples, candles, and Christmas ornaments but most of the shops ask that you not film.  Lyle and I had a game where we each picked out ornaments for each other but couldn't see what we picked for each other until we get our tree this weekend so stay tuned!

These owls were on sale for 50% off and I made a big fuss about how absolutely hideous they were.  Lyle wanted to buy them anyway cause they made us laugh so hard I almost peed a little...
As much as I wish I was able to do a Vlogmas (Christmas videos every day until the 24th) I unfortunately must work but maybe one day I can blog full time it would be SO much fun to do.
For now,  I will be blogging as much as possible throughout the month so you can see all of the festive goodness I get into with friends and family for the holidays!
So enjoy this video, it is my favorite one I have ever made so keeping that in mind, I hope you laugh  and are blown away by the beauty of the PNW as much as we are on the regular.

Look Ma' Both Hands!

Ever wonder if you were wasting time by using just one hand at a time?  Well I just cut most of my makeup application time in half!  What the hell have I been doing all of these years?  I've been a lazy makeup artist is what I have been doing.  Geesh!
To be ambidextrous is to be able to use both hands equally, not necessarily at the same time mind you.  Like, some people can write with both hands.  I have actually practiced this and when I was younger, swore one day I would be able to write perfectly with either hand to really impress people (nobody would have cared, I realize this now).  My interest wore off.
I do however, us both hands to apply makeup on clients at MAC all the time.  Sometimes we are so busy and are in such tight spaces that I have to be able to switch hands to avoid people bumping my elbows while I apply mascara or things like that.
Ok so maybe it wasn't all as easy and time saving as I let on.  I am lucky I survived this one unscathed as I had very sharp tools and torture devices very close to my eyeballs.  It was like that alien abduction scene from the movie "Fire In The Sky" where they torture the dudes pupils...((shudders))
Welp, enjoy laughing at my stupidity!  See ya on the next one :)

Nature Walks and Natural Looks

MAC stole my look!  Well they did! Kinda...
Ok ok so they aren't particularly aware that they stole my look.  It's just, I did this uber natural makeup you see above with the goal of having a juicy nude glossy lip and natural makeup the same day I looked on my Youtube feed and saw them post this "Nude Glossy Lips" video
I get so many great tips from watching their videos though.  I wanted to make my version anyway because mine (of course) is very different from theirs not only in style but my technique was WAYyyyy less involved.  They put like, ten products on that gal just for the lips to look clear!  Cray.
I also did this video the day after the Presidential Election so I was a bit stressed out upon first getting started.  I literally rolled out of bed, showered, and turned on my lights and camera so you get such a raw version of me in this little gem!  Here is the link to the eye roller info I got from Allure for those of you who were interested.  I am addicted to eye rollers now!

Enjoy and stay positive out there folks!  These are stressful times and we need to be good to each other am I right?

Fall H&M Lookbook-UPDATED! Links Included

An H&M Bag arrived at my door a week ago.
I just stared at it with one eye squinting and my upper lip curled for over a week.  I rarely restrain myself from ripping a newly delivered package open like a kid on Christmas but I wanted to wait until I could do a Fall try on video.  If this doesn't tell you how dedicated and how much love I put into my blog then go take a long walk off a short pier.  My dad always says that, never gets old.

But hey, I really had a good time with this one!  Seattle has some crazy ass weather so you really can't predict how to dress.  At this point I couldn't imagine living somewhere tropical and still having to be in all black working at MAC.  My theory is your clothing and style reflects your mood and surroundings...actually I don't even think that's a theory it just is.  Just take a wild guess how living in the PNW has affected me over the past five years.  Won't see Lyle and I walking around in any Tommy Bahama any time soon.  In fact, it we are ever caught wearing it call our Doctor and have our temperatures checked, we may have gone ill.

Here is the video for ya!  Links to all items below.

Pearls $7.99 (similar item)
Clear purse $31.90 (similar item)
Socks from Daiso Japan $1.50 (similar) at Loveculture
Catsuit (similar) $22.50 (it's really hard to find these with a crotch, yikes!)
Marc Jacobs neoprene computer bag (similar) $125

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend folks!

R.I.P. Halloween and My Final Look

I missed the boat!
It turns out that you really do never get a chance to complete all of the Halloween looks you intended when you are a blogger.  I have heard pretty much every single Youtuber say that.  Most of them said they are going to start "pre-filming" for October of next year's videos in January.
Not a bad idea.
One person specifically that I follow did a video EVERY SINGLE DAY.  I put that one in all caps because holy hell that is a lot of work.  It's one thing to vlog your life every day and another to do a creative and complicated makeup tutorial daily.  That's a lot of pressure.  Her name is Jordan Hanz and you can click on her name to view her channel if you want to see it.  She is a next level makeup artist, doing special effects and things like that.  SO freaking good it makes me sick.  She inspires me  to branch out and start learning that side of the cosmetic industry.
I can't say that I'm not a tad happy that Halloween is over though.  I was consumed in it this year in so many facets.  I was freelancing at MAC so a couple times I did some festive makeup, watched tons of tutorials of other bloggers doing special FX, posted several Halloween themed videos, decorated the house, had a pumpkin carving party, ate enough candy to puke, binge watched scary movie classics, and buckled on sobriety so I could taste a pumpkin beer again.  I don't regret it, it was delicious.

The holidays are like a tornado aren't they?  They just come blowing in, take over your house and then disappear so you are left with the sad aftermath of it all and January becomes just January.  We all have to wait for Spring for the next exciting season.  That makes me sad to be honest.  I really struggle January through March trying to stay uplifted because I get such bad cabin fever here in Seattle.
I may get anxious and need to go on a tropical trip ASAP.

So that's it, here is my final Halloween themed video for the month of October.  I did a Peacock mask because I was really wanting to play with feathers and glitter.  This really could work for Mardi Gras and/or a masquerade so it technically can be done a few different ways!

Enjoy :)

Squash Stabbing

Ok ok so just because I did that introvert video doesn't mean I still don't like to hang out with my friends.  Especially my bestie Rebecca and her fella.  We have made it a tradition that even if we don't see each other all summer, when the holidays roll around we have to be sure to enjoy them together.
Us gals are typically cooking and catching up and the guys are usually on the couch playing video games.  How very traditional of us.

So I went out and got some things for the party.  Our favorite grocery store near our house always has a GIANT pumpkin display every year.  I don't know about you but something about it kind of grosses me out.  Especially the thought of opening this one up to "gut it" and carve it.  Lllllleeeuk.

The day before our little get together, Lyle and I went on a much needed date.  It was a beautiful walk to the Tapas restaurant through the Autumnal tunnel of leaves and got a sweet pic of the two of us.  My love is the cutest!
Rebecca and Matthew came over for the evening, she usually brings some food to contribute and we always get excited when we find out she is bringing those little taco cupcakes (see in the video).  They are absolutely delicious, I could honestly eat several of them and ignore the fact that I am full enough to burst open.
I made stuffed bell peppers and caramel apple cupcakes, both ideas I got off of Pinterest.
Cute right??

Pumpkin carving was a success and we had a blast.  My traditional smiley pumpkin is on the left.  Matthew made the Reddit character logo in the middle, whipping his up to completion in record time and Rebecca did her usual weird ass thing where it is always a risk and usually needs doctoring because she fucked it up, bahahaa.  Just writing that made me laugh.  Ohhh lawd have mercy she makes me giggle so much with her Llama.  She said, "I want to carve something that SPITS" lol.
Lyle did the Titleist golf ball logo on his.  He is absolutely obsessed with golf as most of you probably know so this was fitting.  He had to zonk out early since he had an early work day the next morning but does still have a pumpkin left to carve and I plan on holding him to it!
Will post pics on my Instagram when that goes down.

So there we have it folks!  Pumpkin carving with friends Vlog has been uploaded and ready to watch, enjoy and happy carving!

You Might Be An Introvert If-

When we are little babies our parents socialize us with other babies so that we can get a bit of interaction with our own kind.  These are called "playdates" where essentially babies crawl around and slobber on alphabet blocks in the presence of each other, grunting in the confusion of life.
I don't remember what I was doing back then... I can't even remember what color my underwear is right now but I am certain I wasn't the most popular baby in the daycare.  In fact, I remember specifically not being the favorited kid because I was already showing signs of wanting to be left alone early on, I felt it in my soul.  The only person that could hold me was my mom or dad, anyone else got a screaming falcon baby from the Exorcist.  My teeth were so fucking crooked that I could have shred a block of cheddar for your Cobb Salad.  I was uncomfortable to look at and I didn't understand why cause I was a kid and didn't compute "ugly" yet.  Then when I got to be pre-teen I was so skinny and lanky that people gasped when I walked my grasshopper legs down the auditorium to accept my middle school award...I don't remember what I got an award for but I just remember the whispering, "Oh the poor thing, she's too skinny".  I hated being in front of people.  I hated the attention of a crowd, I cringed when too many people noticed me at once.  I wanted to shrivel up into a ball and go home to write (complain) in my diary.

When I got older I still noticed that I didn't like these things, it just was a bit less dramatic and plus as an adult you just realize "I don't want to do that" so you just don't do the thing that you don't like, like speak in public.  I got braces, filled out into a shapely good looking teenager and even went on to pinup modeling.

Sometimes I feel like extroverts just think of my kind as weak or bitchy.
I am neither of those things I can promise you that.  I prefer to look at it as more like we prefer things calm and simple so we can practice our craft (whatever that may be) in peace.
I kept thinking of these funny habits I have about myself last night and couldn't sleep so I wrote down a few ideas I had for a short video I wanted to make regarding Introverts.  If you are an Introvert as well this will be funny but if you aren't you will probably think it's sad.  You may even think I am depressed.  I am not sad nor am I depressed, I just really really enjoy my "me time".

Thanks for watching, enjoy!
